Sylvia Rowbottom was born in Sheffield in 1928, and came south on marriage. After raising three children, she pursued a career as a childcare team clerk for Social Services. On retirement at sixty-five, Sylvia studied with Open University, gaining a First in Humanities in 1999. In the same year, she began studying poetry with Julia Casterton at City Lit. Her work is now published in various poetry magazines. |
