Susan Jane Sims has been passionate about poetry since childhood and her work has appeared widely in magazines and anthologies. She runs her publishing company Poetry Space from her Dorset home and an online monthly poetry group. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Susan believes in the power of poetry to transform individual lives and influence change in society.
 
Susan published her own pamphlet, Irene’s Daughter, with Poetry Space in 2010 and a further two collections, A number of things you should know, with Indigo Dreams Publishing in 2015 and Splitting Sunlight with Dempsey & Windle in 2018. Splitting Sunlight bears witness to the last twenty three months of her son Mark’s life and was completed during a Hawthornden Fellowship in 2018.
 
She was a poet in school for Threshold Prize for eight years until the charity closed. She is happy to be asked to judge poetry competitions and available for readings.
