Sue Proffitt lives in a coastguard cottage in South Devon. She has worked as an actor, a teacher and as a pychotherapist in Higher Education and in the NHS. Writing poetry is central to her life and is an exploration of the beauty and mystery of the more-than-human world and of our complex human relationship with it – arising from a deep sense that the earth is animate, conscious and our greatest teacher. For the last ten years Sue has also been intimately involved in accompanying her mother down the long and extraordinarily painful path of dementia.
