Sharon Morris trained as a visual artist at the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL, where she now teaches and researches the relation between words and images. She has performed her sets of poems with film and video at Post Gallery, L.A.; New Hall, Cambridge; Tate Modern and King’s Place, London. Her poems appear in the journals Poetry London and Poetry Wales and the anthologies Tying the Song, 2001; A Room to Live In: A Kettle’s Yard Anthology, 2007; The Forward book of Poetry, 2008; Rome: A Collection of the Poetry of Place, 2008. False Spring, her first collection (Enitharmon Press, 2007) was short listed for the Jerwood Aldeburgh First Collection Prize. A sequence ‘Songs of the Aveyron and the Ariège’, appears in the Long Poem Magazine, no. 2., 2009. She received a Hawthornden Creative Writing Fellowship, in 2009 to work on a new collection.
