Robert Etty was born in Lincolnshire, where he still lives. Over the past twenty years, his poems have appeared in a range of magazines and anthologies, including Smiths Knoll, The Rialto, The North, Verse, Critical Survey, Poetry Review, Sunk Island Review, The Spectator, The Independent, Agenda, Anon, The Reader, The Frogmore Papers, Other Poetry, London Magazine, The Journal, Dream Catcher, The Interpreter’s House and Seam. He is the author of seven collections: Hovendens Violets (Littlewood Press, 1989); New Pastorals (Frogmore Press, 1992); Marking Places (Slow Dancer, 1994); A Selection (Pikestaff Press, 1997); Small Affairs on the Estate (Pikestaff Press, 2000); The Blue Box (Shoestring Press, 2001); Half a Field’s Distance: New and Selected Poems (Shoestring Press, 2006). He has read from his work at venues including Lincoln, Grimsby, Nottingham, Luton, Ware, Louth, London and the Aldeburgh Festival.
