Jennifer Copley lives in Cumbria in the house where five generations of her family have lived. She has published three collections of poetry – Ice (Smith/Doorstop 2001), House by the Sea (Arrowhead 2003) and Unsafe Monuments (Arrowhead 2006). Her latest collection – Beans in Snow – has been accepted by Smokestack. She is published widely in magazines and has won a number of prizes. In 2005 she was shortlisted for the Strokestown Prize and in 2006 was the National Winner in the Ottakar’s and Faber Poetry Competition. This year she has had a Highly Commended in the Wigtown Competition and a 2nd prize in the Academi Cardiff International Poetry Competition. In 2005 she was elected South Cumbria Poet Laureate. |
