Harriet Proudfoot was born in London and has lived in Oxford, Toronto, Durham and now in London again. She has taught at Morley College and the Mary Ward Centre, London.
 
A selection of her poems have been published in a range of magazines: ARTEMISpoetry, Smiths Knoll, Staple and The French Literary Review. She has also been published in the following anthologies: As Girls Could Boast (The Oscars Press, 1994) and Fanfare (Second Light Publications, 2015). Her first collection Findings is published by Dempsey & Windle (Apr 2020).
 
She is a member of Forest Poets Poetry Stanza, Second Light Network, Tideway Poetry Group and poetry p f. For three years she was a member of Torriano Poets and has read for them as a featured poet. Harriet has also interests in dance and visual arts, both of which inform her poetry. In October 2019, Harriet’s artwork exhibition, Firebird and Other Directions, featured at The Meditatio Centre, St Marks Church, London, EC1.
 
Her poem Gifts, translated into French, was part of a dual-text presentation of children’s experience of war Through a Child’s Eyes in the 2016 St. Clémentin Festival Littéraire.
