Barbara Daniels was born in Lancashire and now lives in Monmouthshire. Her study of English at Oxford University left her with an abiding love of the Metaphysical poets, especially John Donne. Her poetry has been widely published in a range of magazines and she has won top prizes in many competitions. Five previous collections have been published: “Dance With Me,” “Spin Again” and “Mean Time” (National Poetry Foundation); “Camera Obscura” which won the Poetry Monthly open booklet competition 2001 and “Take Off’ (Pikestaff Pamphlets.) She has also written a brief self-published biography of the evolutionary theorist Alfred Russel Wallace entitled “Usk: Origin of a Thinker.” Her most recent collection of poetry: “The Cartographer Sleeps” was published by Shoestring Press in early summer 2005.
