Anne Kind was born in Berlin and came to England in 1934, 1 year after Hitler took power in Germany. She trained as a nurse and married a doctor, and is now widowed. She has two children ― one son, one daughter ― seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was Administrator for the Family Planning Association from 1954 to 1981 and then Administrator and fundraiser for LOROS: Leicestershire Hospice until 1987. In 1999, a small collection, Footprints, was published and sold in aid of LOROS Hospice Care. Anne was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List, 1990, for services to the community. Her poetry has been published in poetry magazines, including Stand, New Hope International, Staple, and is represented in the Bloodaxe anthology Long Pale Corridor and the Northwestern University Anthology USA : Beyond Lament.
