Alison Hill’s first pamphlet, Peppercorn Rent, was published by Flarestack in 2008 and poems have appeared in a range of magazines including Orbis, Fire, Envoi, ARTEMISpoetry, Ripple, Pulsar and Obsessed With Pipework. Her work has been translated into Romanian for the International Notebook of Poetry. Most recent anthologies include poetry tREnD (LIT Verlag, 2010) and This Island City (Spinnaker Press, 2010). She is currently working on a full-length collection.
 
Alison is Kingston Libraries’ first Poet in Residence (June 2011 – 12).
 
Speranza – Alison regularly performs her work alongside Judith Watts in an evolving poetry drama. They have spun their tales and lilies at the Accidental Festival at Camden’s Roundhouse, the Mary Wallace Theatre, the cornerHOUSE and poetry conferences at Kingston and Chichester Universities.
 
She also writes plays and Stalking Oscar was produced at the cornerHOUSE in 2008.
Edge of Blue had a rehearsed reading at Jacksons Lane Theatre in April 2010.
 
Rhythm & Muse
Alison launched Rhythm & Muse at the Lion in Teddington in July 2007. Held every last Thursday of the month, R&M is a lively event featuring guest poets, musicians and open mic. R&M moved to the Ram Jam Club in Kingston in 2011 and works in partnership with Kingston University, regularly showcasing emerging student poets.
