Ward Wood (2nd edition. 1st edition, 2009, bluechrome)
Adele Ward lives in North London with her sons Stefano and Danny. She worked as a journalist and author of nonfiction before spending four years in Italy where her children were born. She was one of the first students on Andrew Motion’s postgraduate creative writing programme at the Royal Holloway, University of London.
Her poetry has been anthologised and broadcast on national and local radio, and other publications include a selection in the first Bedford Square anthology published by John Murray. In summer 2010 she set up Ward Wood Publishing with Mike Fortune-Wood, and the company brings out a book a month, with an equal focus on poetry and fiction.
In 2011 she started the regular Friday Night Writers event in London, where members of the audience can read at open mic and submit to be considered for the annual anthology. The event also features published authors from Ward Wood and other publishers, to support the independent presses. This event is also held in the Poetry Society’s Poetry Cafe once a season, and other events including creative writing workshops can be found on the Ward Wood website.
Publications include the poetry collection Never-Never Land, now in a second edition from Ward Wood, and first published by Bluechrome in 2009. A novel called Everything is Free is due for release.
